Benefits of Facial Steamers

When our pores are clogged, even the best beauty products will fail to do their job as they sit on our skin instead of penetrating through the skin. Pimples are mostly caused for the same reason which is clogged pores which prevents any oxygen from entering the skin and any dirt from leaving the skin.  Facial steamers are very effective for deeply cleaning up pores, removing dead skin, increasing blood circulation, reducing and preventing acne, blackheads and whiteheads. Some facial steamers also provide us the option to add essential oils, herbs and fruits to provide additional care and nourishment to our skin.

While facial steamers are commonly used at spas to deeply cleanse the skin and restore moisture to the skin, we can also do so from the convenience of our home and save both time and money and enjoy the  same sauna facial treatment. While treating our skin we could also treat other problems with these facial steamers like sinuses, allergies and fatigue.

Wrapping it up

It is best to do steaming for once a week and not more than that. They are many features to consider while buying a facial steamer but the most important things to consider are how long does it take to heat up, the amount of time that it distributes steam, consistency of the steam, if its user-friendly and easy to use. For someone like myself, I would prefer a facial steamer that offers at least 15 minutes of steaming but everyone is different, few others I have known like to cut it down to 10 minutes. Also if you like aromatherapy and wish to treat your sinuses then it is beneficial to have steamers that allows you to add essential oils. All in all proper research plays a key role in selecting the best product for yourself. I hope my facial steamers reviews helped you in making the right choice for yourself.

Now back to you what is your favourite facial steamer? What features are you looking for in your steamer? Leave your comments behind and I will be pleased to get back to you as soon as I can.

  3. This would make a fantastic Christmas gift for my girlfriend — do you have a personal favorite? I’m happy that you included the pro’s and con’s for each facial steamer you reviewed, but I’m still uncertain as to which I would choose. I’m not quite sure she’d use cold steam — what is cold steam good for? Do you use it after the hot steam? Or just a session of cold steam alone?

  4. What is involved with setup and maintenance, from a time perspective?
It’s funny because my husband was on Amazon a few months ago looking for a facial steamer. He’s been having some outbreaks recently and doesn’t really like using facial cream or anything like that. He prefers the facial steam approach. For now, we ended up getting him facial cream, but he’s been lazy to use it. So I’m worried that if he’d get a facial steamer, he’d act the same. But then again, he does prefer that approach.
When he was in highschool and had an acne breakout, it was steam that helped him get rid of the acne. But he told me that he did it a more ‘manual way’, by putting his face over a pan of hot water in the kitchen. hehe.
Thanks for sharing this – I will let him know about it.

    1. Hello Regz
Setup is so easy, they come with little cup in them and you just add water to them and switch on the button, it starts steaming within couple of seconds and you are good to go. Traditional method is good too and I have tried it too in the past lol but I used to skip it a lot as it was time consuming to wait for the water to boil and again because of winter it would steam for may be 10 min or so and then the steam effect would reduce, plus my neck got so tired. I wish you goodluck in convincing him lol or else thumbs up to traditional method :). Thank you for dropping by and sharing your experience.

  5. This looks a great option for home. I am fortunate that my gym has a steam room and I constantly use that for the same purpose, it really does help open up the pores, particularly for washing your face after a long workout or just a long day. That being said, the gym isn’t always open and it would be nice to be able to get that extra clean feeling without having to take a shower before and after! Thanks for the idea!

    1. Hello Craig,
Thats is awesome that your gym has a steam room and the best thing is most gyms have them. Yes you are right the gym is not always open and the second problem is when we finish exercising at the gym we want to rush home because we have such a busy life. With facial steamers, we have privilege to pamper our skin from the comfort of our home. I am glad you liked the idea.

  6. Hello Courtney
Yes no doubt this is a great Christmas gift and mine too I received as a gift:). I have used the first one which is the spa home facial steamer and it does a really good job but it generates steam for only 10 minutes and I prefer more time to it.
So I am considering to buy #5 Lavany as it provides steam for 20 min plus it also distributes cold steam. Cold steam is optional and can be used after hot steam to tighten pores and heal from any blackhead removal you performed. I say cold steam is optional because they are other natural things you could use to close your pores like I use a blend of cucumber, yogurt and orange home recipe. This works really good for me.
